Advancing awareness, education, and action to help create safer, more respectful digital communities.
Lisa-Michelle Kucharz was the target of stalking and harassment, but she chose to fight back and won a groundbreaking international criminal case. She has shared her experience and the lessons she learned navigating law enforcement and the judicial system to help others facing similar challenges.
Deeply affected by the rise in cyberbullying, online hate, and their devastating impact—including youth suicide and self-harm—Lisa-Michelle is dedicated to prevention, education, and advocacy. She has collaborated with legislators, policymakers, and advocates to review existing laws and recommend measures that strengthen protections for both youth and adults.
In an article highlighting her advocacy and efforts to establish a task force to examine cyberbullying and potential solutions, she emphasized what she believes is one of the most important steps toward meaningful progress: establishing a clear, official definition of cyberbullying. Without a shared definition, prevention and response efforts remain inconsistent, making it more difficult to address incidents effectively and hold offenders accountable.
Lisa-Michelle advocates for stronger resources and training for law enforcement, schools, and community organizations to help prevent and respond to online abuse. She currently serves on the New York Cyber Abuse Task Force and supports educational initiatives that promote digital citizenship, empathy, kindness, and respect while providing appropriate intervention and support for youth who engage in cyberbullying.
